My experience and the results of going and having treatment with Dr. Mark and his VI P clinic was amazing. I came with soreness in my right knee and leg and my back. I believed I would have to have surgery on my knee. My back had not responded to cortisone treatment. After 4 treatments over a number of months with Dr Mark I am able to walk without pain .My leg is functioning perfectly and my back has had a substantial improvement. I'm a chronic pain physician who has worked with Mark for many years. I've always had the greatest respect for Mark as he has always shared his opinions and expertise on various difficult cases. So it was a "no brainer" that I consulted Mark when another colleague noticed my limp one day and said you have "FAI syndrome" (which I myself had never even heard of!). First described in 2019, it stands for Femoral Acetabular Impingement syndrome (basically the ball (head of femur) in the socket (acetabulum) gets pinced in certain positions. Being a typical male, I first had symptoms 15 years earlier when I would suddenly scream from the momentary position of my R hip. Being a typical male, I did nothing about it until it got to the point where my walking was limited to the point that I could not keep up with my 10 year old daughter and not be able to lift anything (put any load on my R hip) without being in significant pain. A MRI confirmed "severe osteoarthritis due to FAI syndrome" This Dx would normally result in me being booked for a hip replacement. I went directly to Mark with my report and he patiently discussed the cause and potential treatment options. His approach is definitely more "Holistic" (he prefers the term "Integrative") in the he looks at the big picture ie begins from first principles ie diet and gut mechanism (especially for 'inflammatory' components) to giving supplements (eg collagen) to supplement the ligaments and connective tissues around the joint, to be then specifically treat the sources of pain (Perineural Injection Treatment for nerves pain, Prolotherapy for ligaments and tendons, and Platelet Rich Plasma for joint pain. Each of these techniques require a huge amount of training). These treatments along with prescribed stretching routines have made a huge difference to the degree of pain and limitations that I had (ie I have no problem keeping up with my daughter). Although not a complete "cure", the process is essential in maintaining one's overall health (and not just fixing the joint). It takes work on your part, but that is the important thing for you, the individual, to learn. Everyone at the clinic is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. At first, I was very skeptical. It is expensive with shock therapy process that is extremely painful to go through. The injections are painful as well but much shorter in duration. Another xray done last week revealed very good results. Awesome!

Before I met Dr Hawass I was able to do daily activities from talking care of myself and as simple as making my own bed. I couldn’t catch up walking with my husband. I had hip pain for 7 years. I get anxious, depressed and isolated. After receiving Dr Hawass’ treatments, now I can do my daily routine with ease. I can finally walk with my husband again. Having spoken to Mark I have a really good understanding of how I can reduce muscular and joint pain. He is clearly an expert in his field.
At the beginning i had some fears about coming to the clinic but once i met Noha and spoke to her about the treatment options i felt more at ease. Before starting the wellness program i had pain in multiple joints and body aches that have now all been resolved. I have just completed the Optimal Wellness program and I couldn’t be happier. I used to think my struggles with body pain, constant migraines, constantly fatigue, mood swings and much more were “just how it is” but after conversing with Mark Hawass and learning about his Optimal Wellness program, I was intrigued. ’m very impressed with Dr Mark and the team, I had suffered injuries over the years playing professional basketball, so I came to dr Mark for treatment, did few sessions with shock wave for my knees and hip and gave me exercises and now I feel a big improvement. the reason I’m writing this review, because I I was hoping to get PRP, but he was honest and told me that I don’t need it, if it was someone else they be very happy to sell me the products not him, I’m very happy with outcome. Dr. Hawass started giving me treatment for migraines when all other treatments with my doctor weren’t showing to be successful. He took time to listen to my concerns and was always very understanding to my needs. I've had knee pain for too many years. I could not walk very far, I had difficulty with getting up from a chair and I was always in pain. After getting the treatment at Arthritis VIP by Noha the Nurse Practitioner I am now able to walk with no issues and do not have pain on a daily basis. I'm so happy with the results.
32 years ago, I had a shoulder injury. This resulted in repeated dislocations. I tried physiotherapy and chiropractic therapy, as well as acupuncture with no results. I then had surgery to staple my shoulder in place which helped prevent the dislocation, however, chronic pain began. It was too hard to do daily activities such as lifting grocery bags or chopping food, and it was too hard to exercise- I stopped doing yoga and I stopped riding my bike. I was told that I had to live with my pain and was dependent on pain killers. After getting a six month treatment program at Arthritis VIP, I have increased range of motion and I no longer take pain killers. I am able to travel with carrying my bags myself now. 10/10, and here’s why….Over 1 year ago I had insane face pain. I went to the dentist multiple times. I saw my family doctor multiple times. I saw a neurologist several times. I’ve been waiting and waiting. Seeing doctor after doctor. No medicine or advice has helped. My family doctor has been great in helping me stay relatively comfortable and get where I need to. He referred me to a pain clinic where I met Dr. Hawass. Instantly he saw my Discomfort. Instantly he was asking me probing questions, and seeking as much information as I could give. He offered lots of advice as to the best avenue of care. He took the time to understand what is going on. He came up with the best option of care that I’d need to get some relief. And alas, I’m here writing a review; because after one month of care under Dr. Hawass, I am able to multiple days in a row where I am not completely useless, or crying, or stuck in bed for several days. I have some days that are almost pain free. He’s given me a hope for the future. And, he continues to talk to me like a human, and discussing the future for me, so I can be the dad my family needs. I have been seeing Dr. Hawass for about a year now. I'm 34 years old and suffered a stroke 5 years ago... in the years post stroke I've developed nerve issues and chronic pain. I started with a very sore knee that was looking like I would need surgery down the road. Started with Shockwave therapy and I have to date, just completed my 3rd session! I started having knee and elbow pain about three months ago. As a dancer this started to become irritating as I could dance without pain. It got bad enough that it would affect even mundane daily tasks. Even things like going up stairs were painfully sometimes. I only had one treatment but the difference was night and day. In 2020 I had a slip and fall, and now suffer from pain to my right upper side. Neck shoulder back and right arm. I am an athlete who strained my lower back pretty badly. It was difficult to stand up after sitting down for 10 mins and after my first session with Dr. Mark Hawass I was not just getting up just fine and bending/squatting without issues I was also able to return to a lot of my activities (rock climbing) the following week. The only thing thats upsetting about this is that I live in the states and have to come to Canada for his treatments. Toronto and Mississauga people are lucky to have this in their backyard! I don't normally write reviews but if this review helps someone get pain relief, then I'm glad I did! I had a right shoulder impact injury- dislocation, slight rotator cuff tear and fluid build up. Persistent and radiating pain went on for over two years. After a few attempts with different pain treatments that didn't seem to rid the pain entirely, he explained Prolotherapy and we decided to give it a try. Within a few treatments the last of the radiating pain was gone! I'm still in disbelief! I HIGHLY recommend Prolotherapy if you haven't tried it yet. Everyone who works at his office is incredibly kind and helpful, and Dr. M. Hawass himself is one of the most professional, and nicest doctors out there. He'll work with you until he finds a treatment that works. I'm an example. Take care.
Dr Harwass has helped me in so many ways to managed my pain if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be able to function on a daily basis. I cannot state enough how instrumental Dr Hawass and the team at NeuPath was in my recovery. He diagnosed me with thoracic outlet syndrome. This diagnosis provided me with the necessary information to then research and find a physiotherapist with experience rehabilitating someone with this condition. I am a fit 37 year old. I had hurt my neck simply getting into my car, having tapped my head on the frame getting in. Bad went to worse. I had severe muscle pain, stiffness and rigidity that progressed to breathlessness, sleep apnea and associated night terrors, severe choking sensation, esophageal cramping, nausea, squeezing chest tightness and mouth sores. Over a 7 month period, during which time I went on sick leave unemployment benefits, I saw my GP 3 times, saw 3 different physiotherapists and 2 different chiropractors. I was finally hospitalized at my insistence for 10 days. I paid $1000 for my own urgent MRI. I saw 2 Emerg Dr's, a hospitalist, a neurologist, an anesthesiologist for pain management and nerve blocks, and my hospitalist consulted with a neurosurgeon out of province. All thought I had chronic neck pain and dismissed all of my other associated symptoms. I was told they were psychosomatic aka in my head. And truth be told, yes I was displaying erratic behavior. No wonder why. I spiraled. I then required urgent psychiatry, and continue with a psychologist to this day, at my cost. I insisted on an out of province referral to Dr Hawass and his team. I saw him and he diagnosed me in 10 minutes flat. I have made a miraculous and full recovery. After 2 months of religiously sticking with my physiotherapy regimen for two hours a day and daily physiotherapy follow up for physical manipulation, massage, dreadfully painful but necessary graston procedures to break up scar tissue, over $30,000 in lost wages, thousands of dollars in treatment costs, office ergonomic equipment costs, travel costs etc... I have returned to work full time, and am thoroughly enjoying life. I am doing things like gardening, xc skiing etc..7 months later I was mostly symptom free and have emotionally and mentally fully recovered from the trauma. I am currently experiencing a flare so Dr Hawass has agreed to see me. He provided me with the reassurance that I would recover in likely two weeks, provided some guidance on next steps with physio, reassured me family planning was safe, advised some additional equipment like traction and an elastic back brace that would help me to avoid relapse, and advised me on some additional office ergonomics. All thanks is owed Dr. Hawass and my physiotherapist Subash Gautam of Muscle and Joint clinic Mississauga for my recovery. Even though the road is still a little Rocky 1 year later, I have confidence in my team and the plan. This time is different, the symptoms are not quite as severe, yes, but more importantly I am not afraid and hopeless. This clinic and his services are essential to physical and mental health/recovery as well as economic productivity of our population.

I have a dual pain diagnosis: fibromyalgia that affects my lower back and a congenital pain disorder that affects my middle back. When I first started at Neupath (then CPM), I was using a cane, and soon thought I'd not be able to walk at all. I've never experienced that kind of pain before, or that kind of fear. At work I had to recycle cold backs on my lower back and layer my opiates with Tylenol 1s just to get through the day; at the end, I'd go home and collapse. My GP at the time was incredibly unhelpful and resisted providing care because it meant educating herself on therapeutic opiate use. I was in pain and fatigued, I felt ill from too much acetaminophen, and I was angry and depressed because my GP was treating me like a pill seeker. When I started seeing Dr. Hawass at Neupath (then CPM), he did a thorough review of my medications and began injections into my SI joints. By that point I didn't think anything was going to help. I was very wrong. It took some time for my new med regime to settle for my middle back pain, but my lower back was pain free for a few days at a time right from the start. I was so relieved, I cried. Because of his professional attention, I'm now able to exercise again to help maintain and support my back. I won't say I'm pain free; I was never promised that. But I no longer use a cane, or need to sit on a stool to take a shower, need assistance doing my grocery shopping, etc. And I can dance again, my favourite type of exercise! After receiving Dr Harass treatment I am able to work full-time, walk the dog, be there and play with my son, exercise ect. I would definitely recommend Dr Hawass s treatment method.

Suffer years of chronic pain and migraines that I wasn’t even able to walk and finally my old FD referred me to Dr. Hawass and now I able to function and able to get up and out of bed to get my kids off to school. At first I wasn’t sure what to except but I can definitely say that the treatment I receive has helped my day to day life style . I was so tried of chronic migraines back pain or my hands crippling up and can’t even peel a potato, they take you life away and now I know if I feel one coming on , Dr. Hawass would squeeze me in for an appointment. I have been experiencing back pain for over 10 yrs. It has limited me to doing things with my children and daily activities. Daily hygiene was even difficult at times. I have been seeing Dr. Mark Hawass for a few years now . When I frist went to him, I was unsure of him but as I got to no him, he made me feel that everything was going to be ok. I dont like change to much so if he had to go away he would ask if i want someone else to do my injections it takes me along time to trust someone to do this to me . So when I told him this he always worked out my appointments so that he was the one doing them .When I frist went to him I was in so much pain , I was having trouble walking I had to use a cane to get around alot . I could hardly do alot of stuff around the house like cleaning and laundry and I was always falling so I had to make sure someone was around to help me . Now I can do alot of this without help . It might take me a bit longer but i can do on my own now. He is a great doctor and I only like him to do my injections. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a doctor for pain . Which I have done to many of my friends.

Before seeing Dr Hawass, I had to walk with a cane and I was always in pain (shoulder, neck and back from a car accident) At times I was so depressed that I felt I couldnt continue. Now that Ive been seeing Dr. Hawass Ive continued to get better! I walk without a cane, hes taught me how to deal with pain in between my treatments, weve worked on lowering the amount of pills that i hate taking and hes worked with me to produce the perfect treatment plan for me. He actually listens to what I have to say and doesnt brush it off as if its "all in my head". Then he works on a treatment thats designed just for me! I have been going to Dr Hawass for a few years now. He has changed how I’m able to live my life. I am terrified of needles but suffer from almost daily migraines. I have been a patient of his for a few years due to chronic back pain he’s efficient and kind and is very gentle with injections my wife’s terrified of needles and after a bunch of convincing she decided to see him for her migraines and sees him as often as I do my pain doesn’t disappear but there is a very significant reduction after my appointment and last for a short while about 4-5 days which is better than nothing Dr. Hawass suffered from chronic back pain which made him change his specialty from E.R. to pain management he’s very knowledgeable and keeps up with current treatments and will offer you your best shot at pain relief that will work for you and your type of pain I can’t speak highly enough of him
Dr. Mark Hawass is the most compassionate and knowledgeable doctor in such a specialized field that has opened my eyes to a whole new beginning to life again, a life without chronic pain. I highly recommend if you have chronic pain to seek this treatment. I am 44 years old and had been suffering chronic Costochondritis for 7 years and many doctors refused to treat me. Dr. Hawass without hesitation took my case and I am eternally grateful. I could barely sleep, work, struggled to just do simple daily activities and haven’t been able to enjoy sports or activities that I have missed. After three treatments I now sleep better, I can now do simple tasks I never thought I would be able to do again and over time once I rebuild my muscles up I will also be able to enjoy activities I once loved. Before Dr. Mark Hawass: 7 years ago, I was a 10/10 for the terrible pain scale. Due to a L5, S1 back injury, I was highly medicated on pain pills and I could barely walk. I was not able to work as an elementary school teacher or look after my family. I struggled in many ways for months and months in a medicated pain fog. During the pain: Within a year of the injury, I met Dr. Hawass who began a weekly nerve blocking treatment on my back through CPM. Overall, I used a multifaceted approach to heal including nerve blocks, swimming and stretching regularly along with physiotherapy. At this time, I began a very slow healing process. I attended a useful chronic pain management 6 week workshop, offered by the CPM centre at Dr. Hawass’s workplace which I later learned was funded by individuals who worked for the CPM Centre. (A BIG thank you to all, it helped me so much). After a year and a half of nerve blocking etc., I returned to part-time teaching. My life has changed in many ways due to this permanent injury including bi-monthly nerve-blocking (occasionally I take Tylenol or Advil nowadays) but I can function as a wife, mother and employee which I never thought was possible to do at first. Luckily I had good advice along the way... On the Road to Recovery: In reflection, I credit much of my healing to Dr. Hawass along with my physiotherapist and a strong commitment to heal myself. Dr. Hawass made a personal connection with me. He shares his abundance of knowledge about health and psychological well-being. I have been suffering nerve pain for a few years before meeting Dr. Hawass because of a chairi malformation decompression surgery. He has made my life a little more bearable. I receive nerve blocks once a week. His insight and years of experience has allowed me to live a somewhat normal lifestyle while easing my pain down a few notches. Dr hawass always knows how to keep you motivated. In my opinion Dr hawass is a Godsend. I dont know where I would be without his help physically and emotionally he truly is a miracle worker. I am so grateful to have been assigned Dr. Hawass as my doctor at CPM Oshawa 5 years ago. I had just been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and was struggling with chronic pain, particularly low back and hip pain. Mark listened to me and was always willing to change courses when something wasn't working. He took the time to understand what was happening and to develop treatment plans that were ever changing until we found something that worked. I never felt rushed or like an inconvenience as is so often the case when you have an invisible illness. As a result of his ongoing care I am finally able to return to work after 6 years on LTD. Before I met Dr. Hawass, life for me was highly restricted due to my pain which started in 2002. I needed help to get up of the couch, I'd sieze up so bad at night that I couldn't roll over in bed & in the morning I needed help just to get out of bed. If I did yard work, or gardening, which I love to do, I'd get to the point it was difficult for me to get up & down from a chair. My pain was constant & getting worse. My back muscles spasmed all day & the nerves in my neck, back & hips were constantly getting pinched causing stinging, burning pain & frequent immobility where all I was capable of was doing dishes. Even cleaning the house was extremely difficult for me. Since I started seeing Dr. Hawass at CPM for the procedures, my pain levels get as low as a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. I can clean & do yard work & gardening. I can get myself out of bed & up from sitting on the couch without help. My pain & flexibility is the best it's been in well over 10 years. Dr. Hawass even coaches me in holistic methods & diet alterations to increase my mobility & it works. Nor is any of it difficult to do or restrictive. Dr. Hawass listens to my concerns & always answers my questions with practical answers & describes things in detail in ways I can understand. If I ask to have something looked at, Dr. Hawass complies efficiently & explains what needs to be done & why. I would highly recommend CPM & especially Dr. Mark Hawass. My life has changed completely for the better since I started attending appointments & having procedures done at CPM. Without it, my quality of life would be extremely restricted & painful. Over the last year and a bit I had severe pain in my lower right abdomen/rib area, went through several months of CT scans, abdominal scans, bone scans and etc. no doctor could figure out what was wrong so I was referred to Dr. Hawass. On my first visit he diagnosed my problem, Costochondritis , was I shocked! After my treatments were going good and pain was dramatically reduced, Dr. Hawass agreed to start treating me for my 16+ years of Arthritic chronic pain in my lower back, hips, shoulders and neck. I can honestly say that this man not only validated the suffering I had been going through for decades prior but also developed a treatment plan that drastically improved my quality of life and overall happiness. He works in tandem with your family physician to find a treatment regimen that is best suited to your needs. He is extremely knowledgeable , ridiculously experienced, gentle, skilled, fast, efficient and empathetic and utilizes a combination of interventional and preventional treatment models to provide whole patient pain care. The injections / Treatment plan helped me reduce pain in my neck / Shoulder / Arms by 70% and increased function Before my injury I had a career as a chef. Worked long hours and was still able to do my job of a wife and mother of triplets. Then I injured myself and my life seemed to come to a halt. I couldn’t walk 5 to 10 steps without having to stop due to pain. I couldn’t make my way upstairs without resting every few steps. I couldn’t lift, push or pull anything without my centre back, lower back and neck experiencing extreme pain. I used a cane, walker and at times a wheelchair for assistance. His care and patience made feel like someone finally understood what I was going through and the ladies at the front desk are delightful and always have a welcoming smile. I was reluctant on proceeding with the injections at first but thought I had to try something. Dr. Hawass worked at my pace and comfort level. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and gave me different options to help manage my pain. He listened when I need to vent and always left me feeling positive. The nerve block injections are working well for my neck pain. I saw a 60% recovery from only four months of weekly sessions. Now, at 7 months I see him every two weeks for injections. Ive had 4 epidurals and two lidocaine treatments. The combination of the treatment plan works. I am amazed at how my life has changed since I started seeing Dr. Hawass. He showed me how to go about my daily routine at my pace and still get things done at my comfort level. It’s been over a year and a half of dealing with this life changing injury and I can finally say I have a better quality of life because of him.
